If you’re a Viktor&Rolf fragrance newbie, you’re in for
a treat. Today, we’re showcasing our favourite perfumes and aftershaves from
this iconic brand diving into the notes, the stories behind him and just why
they smell so good.
When working on the Flowerbomb fragrance, Viktor&Rolf wanted to create something new. They dreamt of a fragrance that had the power to spread a positive message. A profusion of flowers to spread the world with beauty and fantasy and to transform the negative into positive. A bouquet of tens of cattleyas, hundreds of sambac jasmine, thousands of freesia, and millions of rose petals enriched by an addictive scent of patchouli and vanilla. This now iconic fragrance was created by the perfumers Olivier Polge, Carlos Benaim and Domitille Berthier.
Embrace a new floral lightness with Flowerbomb Dew Eau De
Parfum, the floriental perfume for women by Viktor&Rolf. Flowerbomb Dew
encapsulates a new vision of Flowerbomb fragrances: one that is soft, delicate,
and feminine. Be enveloped by the light floral perfume of Living Rose Lace: a
hydroponic rose, growing only in water and infused with a transparent dew, for
a scent that melts like water on your skin. Fresh and juicy top notes of
Bergamot, Pear Accord, and Ambrette blend effortlessly with heart notes of
Essential Rose, Living Rose Lace, and Orris. This dries down to delicate,
sensual base notes of Heliotrope Accord, Cashmeran, and Musks, leaving a trail
of unforgettable femininity. The iconic Flowerbomb diamond grenade bottle is
reimagined as a vision of purity, in white glass with a pearly veil. Endlessly
fresh and inimitably modern, discover a new floral sensation that feels as
light as second skin.
Spicebomb is an explosive concentrate of masculine
sensuality, a burst of spices tamed by an enveloping freshness. Viktor&Rolf’s
male fragrance is born of the mix between two accords: the first is a heart of
incandescent spices – chilli and saffron – with the all-masculine roundness of
leather and tobacco, along with the distinguished strength of vetiver. The
second is explosive, fusing fresh zesty notes of bergamot and grapefruit, while
cold spices – elemi and pink pepper – leave the mark of their icy bite. The
ultimate detail: the fragrance is released by pulling the pin, which has been
revisited with the Viktor&Rolf seal.
ARE YOU READY TO TURN OFF THE LIGHTS? Meet Viktor&Rolf’s
explosive men’s fragrance, Spicebomb Night Vision Eau de Toilette. More
mysterious, more daring, more provocative . . . yet just as addictive as the
original Spicebomb. Night Vision is an explosive contrast of green freshness
fused with addictive black spices. Dial up the intensity with an electric
combination of hot spices and vibrant citruses. Be engulfed by the fresh
perfume of Bergamot, Cardamom, and Grapefruit, which develop into a masculine
heart of Clary Sage, Geranium, and Lavandin. This blast of freshness fuses with
a dark trail of strong Tonka Bean, Patchouli, and warm woods. Unleash your
inner voyeur with Spicebomb Night Vision . . . because the best things happen
after dark. #LIGHTSOFFGAMEON
Ah, blackheads. We all know them, and let’s face it, we all hate them. If you’re on a mission to clear your skin of blackheads and restore a smooth, even tone, you’re in the right place.
First, let’s take a look at what causes
blackheads. Understanding the cause of any skin problem, whether it’s mild acne
or something more serious, is an essential first step in dealing with it.
What are blackheads?
Blackheads are a mild type of acne. They appear
when hair follicles get clogged with excess oil, or ‘sebum’. In the skincare
world, these clogs are called ‘plugs’.
Sebum is useful for keeping your skin soft, but
when too much of it builds up, sometimes combining with dead skin cells, it
forms a bump under the skin. If the buildup stays underneath a layer of skin,
it’s called a whitehead. You know the type. If the follicle opens, the top layer
of the plug will be exposed to oxygen in the air and turn black. Enter,
These pesky spots usually appear on the face,
particularly around the nose, forehead, and chin, although they can also appear
Because of their dark brown or black colour,
this type of acne is usually easy to spot on the skin. Unlike other bacterial
pimples, blackheads aren’t painful, inflamed, or red around the edges.
Who gets blackheads?
Some people are more likely to suffer from blackheads
than others. You might get blackheads more often if you:
Have naturally oily skin
Are prone to acne
Are undergoing hormonal changes
like puberty, menstruation, pregnancy, or because of birth control
Are taking certain medications
Some research suggests that acne, and therefore
blackheads, can be linked to food intolerances. This might include dairy,
gluten, and other common intolerants. However, this hasn’t been proven, and
lots of scientists doubt the connection.
How to get rid of blackheads
Blackheads aren’t harmful, although lots of
people don’t like the way they look and want to reduce or remove them as soon
as possible. Luckily, there are a few straightforward ways to manage blackheads
when they do appear. If you’re prone to blackheads, it can be a good idea to
find a treatment that works for you and stay on top of your blockages as part
of your regular routine.
Over-the-counter blackhead treatments
There are lots of acne medications available,
and you can find some good ones at a pharmacy or health shop. These include
creams, gels, and liquids which you apply directly onto your skin to help
remove blackheads. This type of treatment works by fighting bacteria and drying
up excess oil.
Prescription acne medications
If your acne is bothering you and
over-the-counter treatments don’t seem to be working, your doctor can prescribe
something more robust. Prescription blackhead treatments can stop blockages
from forming in hair follicles and promote quicker cell turnover. These medications
will be applied directly to your skin.
Manual blackhead extraction
Head to Instagram if you aren’t sure what this
is. The internet is bursting with videos of dermatologists squeezing blackheads
out of patients, which can make it seem more straightforward than it actually
An expert dermatologist will create a small
opening in the blockage, which means the blackhead buildup will slip out when
pressure is applied. Don’t try this at home. With the wrong tools and
technique, you might end up making your breakout worse.
Microdermabrasion involves using a rough
instrument to remove dead cells from the top layer of your skin. This helps
bring blackheads to the surface to remove the plug. Visit a professional for
How to prevent blackheads
It’s one thing knowing how to get rid of
blackheads once they’ve appeared, but wouldn’t it be better if we could stop
them from appearing altogether? While there’s always a chance of new blackheads
forming, there are some ways you can minimise your chances of getting them.
Keep your face clean
The first and most obvious way to prevent
blackheads is to keep your face clean. Wash regularly with a gentle cleanser to
prevent oil building up in pores and hair follicles. Harsh soaps and exfoliants
can irritate and dry out your skin, which might make acne worse. So always be
gentle and choose a product that’s right for you.
Stay away from oils
While these products can be excellent for some
people, if you suffer from blackheads, chances are you don’t need and extra
oils in your routine. Consider choosing oil-free or water-based products to
keep your skin clear.
Exfoliate once or twice a week to help remove
blockages from pores and hair follicles. Don’t be too rough! You should aim to
gently remove oil buildup, not to scrub away an entire layer of skin.

With face masks more essential than ever before, while they’re working away to protect us, they aren’t doing too many wonders for our skin. Face coverings trap warmth and moisture which aggravates the skin causing it to produce excess oil and bacteria which can clog up pores causing breakouts, aka Maskne!
We’ve picked out 3 essentials for helping prevent and treat all cases of maskne. Staying protected is worth it but so are these handy heroes for keeping your skin as clear and clean as possible.

Now we’ve got the products on lockdown – pun intended – here
are a few FAQ’s with helpful answers to give you even more information of Maskne
and other things you can do to help look after your skin in this new lifestyle
Should I still wear makeup?
You don’t need to worry! Wearing makeup is fine as long as
you aren’t working with too many base layers. One thing that almost isn’t worth
it, however, is lip gloss. Masks + lip gloss definitely weren’t meant to be.
Makeup stains may limit the ability to reuse your mask so it’s just worth
noting that regular washing of them may be in order too.
Do certain fabrics cause maskne?
Lightweight fabrics are definitely better for your skin but
of course they don’t offer the same level of protection as others. While
lighter fabrics are cooler and usually easier to breathe in, tight weave
fabrics with several layers are the best protection.
How do I treat maskne?
Using cleansers daily are great for helping to keep your skin clean and calm. If you already suffer from acne-prone skin lookout for the ingredient, salicylic acid. Rogue but allegedly effective, dandruff shampoos have been found to help calm the skin and remove excess yeast build-up especially around the nose and mouth thanks to the ingredients ketoconazole or selenium sulfide.
