What’s the difference between aftershave, Eau de Toilette
and Eau de Parfum?
Many people often use the terms randomly, but they do
actually refer to different things. Aftershave contains less perfume oil and
typically contains soothing ingredients like aloe vera or camomile. The low oil
concentration is perfect for applying post shave. The scent tends to be fresher
and lasts for around 3 hours.
An Eau de toilette contains more perfume oil than
aftershave. The higher concentration means if you apply it post shave, it might
sting a little! An Eau de toilette again tend to be very fresh, more of an
everyday scent. They will probably last around 6 to 8 hours.
If you’re looking for something a little bit stronger then
reach for an Eau de parfum. Eau de parfum fragrances contain the highest
concentration of perfume oil, usually around 8 to 15 percent. They tend to be
spicier, richer scents that will last much longer.
