Eat everything – When it comes to food, New York has it all. From bagels and donuts to pizza in Little Italy. Eat until you can’t eat anymore. (And then eat a little bit more). 5. The views are incredible and independent shops can be found in the Chelsea Market just below. If arty isn’t your style, there is of course Times Square, all of Soho, Bloomingdales – the list goes on.

You’ll probably have seen photos of Burano’s colourful houses, which were traditionally painted in those bright hues so that returning fisherman could find them in the fog.
