We’re in December, which means it’s officially socially acceptable to walk around with bright red lips and glitter lids all day every day until the new year. Today, Steph from Cocochic is showing you her current go-to festive makeup look featuring products from the Fragrance Direct website.
As usual, the first step is to perfect the base using the W7 Singin in the Rain foundation and conceal any blemishes using the NARS Creamy Concealer – a brand new cult product that has just become available on the FD website!
Once you’ve created a flawless finish, set everything in place using the Daniel Sandler Invisible Veil Powder – an incredibly finely milled powder that gives almost an airbrushed finish to the skin.
For the eyes, set the lids in place using the light nude shade from the Technic Fashionita palette and blend a neutral brown shade into the crease to act as a transition shade. Deepen the outer corners by blending the burgundy shade on the outer corners using a fluffy brush, and add a pop of glamour by pressing the copper pigment from the palette onto your lids using a warm finger.
Cut crease makeup looks are all the rage right now with beauty gurus, but – good news – you don’t have to be a fully fledged makeup artist to master the look. In fact, it’s a lot more simple than it looks.
With primed lids, start by applying a base shade from the Technic Fashionista palette all over the lid to set everything in place whilst also ensuring that any eyeshadow will glide on seamlessly.
Next, apply a neutral transition shade to the crease, bring it out towards the brows. Don’t worry about being too precise with this – the most important thing is to ensure you have a gradual blend up towards your brow. Blend your favourite warm-toned shadows over the top to add a pop of colour to the look.
Next, to cut the crease, apply concealer to the lid using a small flat brush for extra precision. Steph is using the NARS Creamy Concealer in Custard, as it matches her skin tone perfectly whilst also providing really good coverage.
Create a fake crease as shown in the video and wing it outwards in order to ‘lift’ the eye. Set the concealer in place using the same base shade from the Fashionista palette, smoke out the lower lash line and blend together the look using a clean fluffy brush.
