Mark Vanderloo in the new DKNY ‘Men’ advertisements
The latest designer aftershave from Donna Karan New York that launched in March this year was DKNY Men. Male model, Mark Vanderloo is the celebrity face to endorse the newest DKNY male fragrance and in fact the whole of the DKNY male fragrances in 2009.
The huge advertising campaign for DKNY Men has been the catalyst that has spurred a huge amount of attention for the new cologne, with tens of millions of US dollars already spread the fragrance message loud and clear to its global audience.
Mark Vanderloo has worked with DKNY’s fashion label in the past where he featured in a 1990s advertisement for jeans and t-shirts. Additionally Mark has also been the face of Hugo Boss’s aftershave Boss Soul, therefore he is no novice when it comes to aftershave launches and fragrance endorsements.
The citrus and floral aftershave which is DKNY Men is also a mix of woody aromas and was created by two famous perfumers Harry Fremont and Alberto Morillas and took them over a year to produce. The design of the aftershave bottle is highly unique and has been inspired by the famous American Flat Iron Building.
Donna Karan recently commented; “DKNY Men is all about the man and the city. It takes a certain kind of guy to live and thrive in New York [and] I wanted a scent to speak to his unique style and strength. That is why we chose Mark Vanderloo to represent both DKNY fashion and fragrance. He embodies the DKNY Man.”
Estée Lauder’s Trudi Loren commented; “DKNY Men gave us the chance to build from the ground up what would resonate with men, and the soul, power and sophistication of New York — the energy it evokes.”
