Guerlain
This is amongst one of the older perfume houses globally and is commonly known to have inspired an extremely large and rather loyal customer following.
Fragrances produced by Guerlain are known to inspire through the smell of confection and their base notes are often vanilla and amber across most of their scents, this well known vanilla and amber scent is known by the brand as “Guerlinade” and indeed Guerlain launched a perfume by the same name way back in 1921.
In previous years, Guerlain was firmly a family run business which was managed and owned by family members between 1828 and 1994.  In 1994 the LVMH group acquired the brand.
Much of the success of the brand was attributed to Pierre-Francois who peaked with success during 1853 following his creation of Eau de Cologne Imperial. This new fragrance earnt Pierre-Francois the title of ‘His Majesty’s Official Perfumer (France)’, leading to the further creation of perfumes which he went on to create for Queen Victoria and Queen Isabella of Spain.
Amongst Guerlain’s more popular and famous creations is their flagship fragrance Shalimar which was created and launched in 1925.
Once the LVMH acquisition tool place in 1994 it was the first time that perfumers and ‘noses’ outside the family were hired to compose the Guerlain fragrances and fragrances such as L’Instant de Guerlain were brought to the market in 2004.
Guerlain still remains a popular brand with a history steeped in successful fragrance composites which further lead to the production of some of the best skin products available on the market.
