Five tips for combating sleepy, ‘partied out’ eyes.
Over the party season you are sure to encounter a few late nights and perhaps the odd few too many drinks and out of all areas of your body it is your eyes that will be the tell tale sign of your partying ways.
Typical partied out eyes include dark circles, reddish whites and droopy lids. You can revive those eyes quickly with a few helpful tips.
Step 1: If you normally wear contact lenses you will be acutely aware that your eyes can become dry and red very quickly at times. Couple this with not enough sleep and the effect can be quite alarming. If you are having a tired day you should consider skipping your contacts on these days to avoid irritation and redness. Instead wear your glasses.
Step 2: Give eyes a drop of natural moisture – this will lubricate your dry eyes and give the appearance of brightness. Eye drops also tend to include ingredients that constrict blood vessels which will take out the redness from the whites of your eyes.
Step 3: Once you’ve started to prep your eyes with drops turn to make up to cover the rest.
Use light, bright eye shadows with a hint of shimmer – these will brighten and widen your eyes. Apply a sheer sweep of yellowish shadow from your brow bone to your lash line, lightly contouring the crease of your eye with a medium shade.
Step 4: There are two useful tips that make up artists use to brighten eyes; using navy eyeliner on your top eyelashes and a white or nude pencil on the lower rim of your eye. The navy liner makes the whites of your eyes look even whiter and the white colour on the lower lids furthers the effect.
Step 5: It is all about making your eyes pop, particularly if you are tired. Eyelash curlers are great when used in conjunction with a good curling mascara – the combination of both helps your lashes to sweep both upwards and outwards and instantly widens and wakens tired eyes.
