Balenciaga revives its fragrance line
Designer brand Balenciaga is preparing to launch its first fragrance in over 10 years.
Balenciaga Paris is a collaboration with award winning perfumer Oliver Polge and is the first fragrance since Balanciaga teamed up with fragrance giants Coty earlier this year.
Balenciagaâs Creative Director, Nicolas Ghesquiere has had an immense amount of input into the fragrance, and is a close friend of Charlotte Gainsborough- the actress who will front the campaign.
Cotyâs Senior Commercial Vice President, Jean Mortier enthused: â
The violet was worked as a major note, in a vertical dimension, focusing on the natural, green, fresh aspect of the flower and its leaves. It is unusual in perfumery, [which] usually explores the powdery facets of the violet.â
âThe fragrance is being positioned in what we call the âupscale designerâ. We didnât want to target a specific group, we wanted to create a fragrance that is timeless. This is a fragrance for those who appreciate the craftsmanship and quality that is so specific to Balenciaga.â
Balenciaga Paris will be available in 30, 50 and 75 ml EDP bottles, with matching body products also expected.
