Over the weekend, a large host of famous faces gave 4 year old Cruz Beckham the most star studded party ever seen for a toddler of his age.

Fashion icon Victoria Beckham who has recently seen the highest sales of her fragrance ever, decided to hire out an LA karate school for her son’s superhero themed party.

Cruz dressed up as Wolverine from the famous X-Men and was said to have smiled all the way through his party which was also attended by his brothers Romeo and Brooklyn Beckham.

Eva Longoria brought her 2 nieces to the party and Nicole Richie and Joel Madden appeared.

Victoria Beckham wore a sleek Dolce & Gabbana navy dress with a pair of designer sunglasses and Jimmy Choo heels. She wore little make-up and her eye shadow and lipstick were painted with the nude colours of the season.

The party was said to have been a great success.

Meanwhile, Mariah Carey is still with her dutiful husband, Nick Cannon. Mariah, who experienced record perfume sales at Christmas, is closer to Nick than ever after he bought her a ski lodge in Aspen as a Christmas present to her. The lodge is reported to be worth $1.5 million and is a 5 bedroom house set in an exclusive resort.

Warhol provided the iconic picture of Marilyn Monroe on his fragrance Marilyn Red and in 1969 he founded and launched Interview magazine. It was towards the end of his career that his work really caught public attention and he started appearing regularly in society columns, on national magazine covers and TV advertisements.

Andy Warhol, in all these endeavors had a keen talent for attracting publicity by managing to find a visual image that would shock or by uttering an unforgettable quote. The fact that his art and talent managed to attract and also maintain such a large public following, especially though the 60’s where he was considered to be at the peak of his career, has meant he has been deemed to be amongst the most widely emulated and influential artists of his time.

On 22nd February 1987, Andy Warhol died aged 58. However, his art, fragrances and films have most certainly not.

Latest reports from both Hollywood and key fragrance industry figures have the press and the beauty industry in a state of excitement, as another popular celebrity name is about to launch what is bound to be yet another high selling celebrity fragrance.

Jennifer Aniston has decided to expand her resume and has been working on her new scent which will be launched this year and is being dubbed by the industry as the new ‘Aniston-inspired fragrance.’

Jen, who recently celebrated her 40th birthday this month is in the process of attending manufacturer meetings and is still agreeing the formula for her first and only trademark scent.

Jennifer Aniston’s agent recently commented to Marie Claire Magazine about these rumours, however, she did remain coy when she stated: “We’re not in a position to confirm or deny this.”

The other celebrities who have used their household name status and glamorous reputations to capitalise on the fragrance market include Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani and Sarah Jessica Parker who have all launched their own distinctive perfumes.

It is also rumoured that Angelina Jolie is to launch a sexy new scent during the year.

Angelina Jolie swept over the red carpet in a black strapless Elie Saab gown which she paired with stunning emerald jewellery. The actress is rumoured to be launching a sexy new fragrance later this year.

The person responsible for creating Angelina’s Oscar look was celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton.
Mary said she applied a Khôl crayon in Black Ebony to Angelina’s upper and lower lash lines. She applied heavier liner to the outer corners of her eye in order to emphasize the shape of Angelina’s eyes.

Black lengthening and volumising mascara was used to her upper lashes using Lancôme Mascara. Angelina was given a touch of pink on her cheeks. The ultra shiny luminous lips which Angelina had at the ceremony were created by Lancôme Juicy Tubes.

Angelina’s cascade of hair curls were achieved by celebrity hairstylist David Babaii who explained:

“I sprayed Angie’s entire head with a volumising gel and scrunched it into the hair (this gives just the right texture and hold). Next, I dried her hair by dividing her tresses into 3 sections: top, sides and back leaving the nape area free. Taking small sections starting at the nape, I used a Blow Dryer with the nozzle attachment and finished the drying process with a large round styling brush to smooth hair straight. At the crown area, I sprayed a root lift to the root area and down the hair shaft. Then, I dried this section with a jumbo round styling brush to add lift and volume.”

Sir Elton John threw one of his most lavish parties to date in celebration of the 2009 Oscars; the party was by special invite and saw 650 guests appear. Famous faces included: Gordon Ramsay, Kate Beckinsale, Katie Price and newly accepted Hollywood icon Victoria Beckham, who is also experiencing the highest fragrance sales in the celebrity perfume market than has ever been seen before.

Many of the famous faces at Elton’s party were from the UK, as this year there were a number of British actors and actresses who stormed the Academy Award nominee list; some went on to take Oscars including Kate Winslet.

Other celebrity guests at Elton’s party were Sharon Stone, Kiefer Sutherland and supermodel Elle Macpherson.

The party came with a $3,500 (£2,400) ticket price in aid of raising money for the Elton John Aids Foundation and was held at the Pacific Design Centre in West Hollywood.

As Elton arrived at the expensive soiree, he was reported as saying that there was “no way” he was thinking of playing down the party due to the global economic woes. He added:

“We give them the best that they can possibly afford. It’s beautiful inside the tent, the food’s great, everyone will be served the best wines, but they need to be because they’ve paid an awful lot of money for a seat.”

The spring 2009 campaign for Marc Jacob’s latest fragrance is headed up by Daisy Lowe who features on all the advertising boards and in magazine pictures shot by the legendary Juergen Teller.

Originally launched in August last year, Daisy is already one of Marc Jacob’s best selling fragrances.

The international fashion designer was quoted regarding his new fragrance:

“…Daisies don’t smell, but I wanted to evoke the feeling that you get when you see them — happy and youthful. My gardenia and jasmine scents [Marc Jacobs for women and Blush Marc Jacobs, respectively] are more singular and definitely more ‘designer’ scents. I don’t want to say they’re older, but they’re more sophisticated.”

The fragrance bottle is particularly distinguishable, with white daisies designed from vinyl on the cap. Chief perfumer, Alberto Morillas is responsible for the latest refreshing scent from the MJ corner. The perfume has notes of wild strawberry, violet, vanilla, red grapefruit, jasmine, gardenia, musk, vanilla and white woods.

Marc Jacobs Daisy has been marketed by the olfactory equivalent of the designer’s secondary line, known as Marc by Marc Jacobs, which makes products more accessible to the general public in monetary terms than their signature range.

The recent Oscar awards ceremony saw the largest celebrity line up in the Hollywood events calendar for 2009.

Jennifer Aniston wore a long beautiful white dress in a California style with glowing, bronzed skin and nude make-up. She took to the stand for a ten minute ‘comedy sketch’ along with the actor Jack Black before introducing one of the nominations. The pair had their celebrity colleagues laughing in the aisles and Jen’s comedy sketch even caught a grin from rival Angelina Jolie. Jennifer and Angelina are set to go head to head this year with the release of their new fragrance products.

The majority of celebrities wore their hair up in elaborate 1940s styles; showing their shoulders off with the shoulder designer dresses. Anne Hathaway wore her hair in chic chignons whilst Kate Winslet, who took her first Oscar, had her hair set into waves.

Angelina Jolie glowed with pale rosy skin worthy of a catwalk fashion show. Her blusher was a pale rose and she wore lip gloss in line with the season’s latest trend which is nude. Using just a hint of black eyeliner she emphasized her Bambi eyes.

Angelina’s thick glossy hair had been volumised and textured; her stylist had pulled half of her hair into a half up and half down style, which made it look modern and fresh. A knot of hair twisted at the back gave her cascading curls producing a very feminine effect.
