D & G is planning to launch a new cosmetic line which is to hit the beauty market in March, with Scarlett’s name and face fronting the campaign. Scarlett has been styled as Marilyn Monroe for the campaign with red lips, loose curls and very long eyelashes. Dolce & Gabbana recently said they had chosen Scarlett Johansson because “She is sure of herself. She’s a beautiful girl, but she’s really easy going. She is very Dolce & Gabbana.”

The new D&G make-up range is luxuriously packaged in Dolce and Gabanna style – gold pouches for exclusive make-up purchases and plenty of ‘bling’. The colour collection is said to have been inspired by the Mediterranean and it is expected that there will be much in the way of deep golds and blues.

Stefano Gabbana stated that there will be scented lipsticks included in the collection:

“We wanted to create makeup with a scent. Domenico and I remember when we were children and opened our mother’s handbags — the scent of her lipstick trailed out. I observed that when women open makeup, they smell it first.”
