Celebrity mascara secrets
Mascara mixing
The makeup artist to Jessica Alba is Garret Gervais and he always applies two mascaras to her lashes to ensure clump free, maximum length lashes. The first mascara he will apply is for lengthening and the second type of mascara is a thickener.
The curling marathon
Bruce Grayson is the makeup artist for Drew Barrymore and he applies her mascara by firstly painting one thin coat which he allows to dry for several seconds and then he curls the lashes with an eyelash curler, after the mascara has been applied it helps the curls to stay in place.
Getting a smudge-free finish
Taylor Babaian is a makeup expert who recommends waterproof mascara if you have lashes that are curl resistant. The lashes that are causing the smudged eye look are obviously too straight and are brushing against the skin around your eye every time you blink, so they should be curled upwards.
Colour without the clump
Bryan Smoot, makeup artist to Mariah Carey, will normally water down mascara that is too thick. He will mist his mascara wand with a special water bottle, wait ten seconds and then apply the mascara.
Clear choice mascara
April Greaves is a celebrity makeup artist who champions the use of clear mascara in favour of a white primer because she claims it is much easier to brush over with your mascara.
