Joop! are getting set to launch a new men’s aftershave- an addition to their popular Wolfgang Joop! range.

The scent, named Freigeist (translated as ‘freethinker’), is a floral yet masculine fragrance ‘created for a free spirit’.

Freigeist is the brainchild of top perfumers Alienor Massenet and Sophie Labbé and features notes of gin, wild jasmine, wild leather and mahogany wood.

Joop! Freigeist is a collaboration with Coty, whose ever expanding portfolio of clients is set to grow even further in 2010.

The original Joop! Wolfgang scent was launched in 2008, and followed a line of other successful scents from the brand, which include the incredibly popular Homme, Nightlife, Jump, Go and Thrill aftershaves.

The bottle is a striking shade of blue, and is the creation of Lutz Hermann.

Initially, Joop! Freigeist will be launched in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, although its success is almost certain to see it branch out into the rest of Europe.

The aftershave will hit shelves next month, and will be available in 50 and 90 ml EDT bottles. A matching aftershave splash, hair and body wash and deodorant stick.

This isn’t the first time that Enrique has dabbled in the fragrance market- in 2005 he was the face of Tommy Hilfiger’s True Star Men.

It looks like it’s going to be a busy few months for Enrique as, in addition to promoting the aftershave, he is also set to release a brand new album.
