Bijan Pakzad, the well known designer of menswear and fragrances was born in Iran and immigrated to the U. S. during 1973. In 1976 he opened his flag ship boutique in Beverly Hills’s famous Rodeo Drive. The shop was so exclusive you could only visit through “appointment only”. Some of the press have described it as “the most expensive store in the world”.
Bijan is the famous designer for some of the globe’s most influential and powerful men including; President Vladimir Putin, President Bush, Giorgio Armani, Senator John Kerry Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Cruise, Thomas, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Tony Blair, Paul Allen, Jay Leno, Usher, Carlos Slim Helu, Oscar De La Renta, Tom Ford, and ex President Ronald Regan.
He lives mainly in Beverly Hills but also owns places in New York, Milan and Florence.
Bijan is known for his distinctive fragrances which he produces for the male and female market, they are held in a rather unusual rounded glass flacon, which has an open centre and dividing web. If the bottle is half full there are two chambers which the fragrance fills but each appear to defy the law of gravity as the liquid in the bottle sits at a level that does not correspond with its contents. These bottles are so notably different to the norm that one of them is featured in a permanent exhibition in America.
During 1988, Bijan’s brand for Men collected its first Fragrance Foundation FiFi award for “Most Successful Men’s Fragrance (Exclusive)” and his brand for Women won the award for “Best Women’s Fragrance Package”.
