We all know that Vitamin C is great for our immune systems, keeping away a cold and also great for our eye sight but how many of your use it for your skin? There’s a huge list of benefits that Vitamin C can do for your skin, that if you aren’t using it already you’ll be stocking up by the end of this article!

Beauty insiders have been shouting about the benefits of Vitamin C for years but it’s only recently that vitamin c based skincare has been increasing in popularity. The fact that Vitamin C has fantastic anti-oxidant properties, helps protect skin against free radical damage that is caused by external environmental factors. Free radicals contribute to collagen breakdown resulting in sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles. Not ideal.

So to get sciencey about it…

Vitamin C is an antioxidant. It helps protect the skin against environmental factors = pollution and stress! Vitamin C can donate electrons in order to neutralise free radicals created in the skin after oxidative stress. Oxidative stress is sun damage to you and I… This doesn’t mean if you use a moisturiser with Vitamin C you can forget about SPF though!

Vitamin C is one of the factors in stabilizing and creating collagen molecules meaning it is one of the most reliable anti-aging ingredients. It will help combat the signs of ageing including fine lines, wrinkles and sagging skin. Vitamin C is also known for its brightening properties, to give you super glowy skin!

So here’s some super Vitamin C products for you to try:
